Preschool Program

A nurturing preschool environment is provided to the children of women students. While their mothers attend classes, preschoolers develop school-readiness skills. The children learn and play in a program designed to meet and challenge the children’s developmental skills. Activities incorporate books, puzzles, blocks, outdoor play, educational computer games, art and music. English-language skills and beginning reading and writing activities create a solid foundation for future learning success. Breakfast, snacks and a hot lunch are  provided.

An important and unique component of the Preschool Program is “Mommy and Me” time. At the end of the school day mothers who attend our ESL classes join their preschoolers in the children’s classroom. There are reading and music activities facilitated by teachers and volunteers. The parent and child together time benefits both mother and child. Bags with books, story CDs and a reading log are provided so that the shared family reading continues at home.
